Best Fashion Films: Our Top 6

Sometimes all you want to do is stay at home and watch a good movie. We have handpicked six best fashion films for you to watch and get inspired by, from the all time classics to the modern ones.

Breakfast At Tiffany’s

This classical movie starring Audrey Hepburn is one of the most recognisable fashion films ever. Hepburn worked with Hubert de Givenchy on various movies, but this one became the masterpiece of their collaboration. The “little black dress” worn by the actress in the opening scenes started a major fashion trend, and was sold for $923,187 in 2006 at an auction.

The September Issue

This documentary shows Anna Wintour’s preparation for US Vogue’s fall fashion edition. Expect to see luxury photoshoots, runway shows and Vogue’s ex creative director Grace Coddington.

The Devil Wears Prada

If you still have not seen this movie, you might consider doing so since this hit comedy became one of the modern classics of the fashion films, and is the most expensively costumed film of all time. Anne Hathaway plays a graduate who got a job as a personal assistant to an editor in chief of a glossy magazine, brilliantly played by Meryl Streep.

Annie Hall

Diane Keaton’s fashion in this Woody Allen movie is inspired by vintage men’s clothing, which became a major trend for women after the release of this film. Interesting fact – many of the items worn by Diane Keaton in this movie came from her own wardrobe.

The fashion choices of the main characters who were living in a fantasy world had real-world implications in the late 90s.  Interesting fact – 53 different kinds of plaid were used in this movie!

A Single Man

Fashion designer Tom Ford has directed this movie, so you can expect that the style in it is as important as just about anything else in the picture, and clothing is being one of the most memorable aspects of it.  Must-see visual masterpiece!
